About

At Pakenham Scouts, young people grow, learn, and have fun in a safe, supportive environment. In Victoria, Scout groups are organised around youth sections: Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, and Rovers. Each section is supported by two key groups of adults: Leaders and the Committee.

Our Leaders

Leaders are trained and qualified (or in the process of becoming qualified) to guide their section. They plan activities, adventures, and learning experiences that help young people develop confidence, teamwork, and life skills. Parents are also invited to assist with sessions from time to time, giving everyone a chance to be part of the action.

At Pakenham Scouts, our current Youth Leaders are:

  • Joeys (5–8 years): John, Xenia, Matt, James, Tristan
  • Cubs (8–11 years): Andrew, Mehmet, Jacqui, Jay, Braeden, Paul
  • Scouts (11–15 years): Jude, Scott
  • Venturers (15–18 years): Meet at Nar Nar Goon as part of the Cannibal Creek Venturer Unit

The Committee

The Committee is made up of parents and community members who work behind the scenes to make sure our youth sections have everything they need. They handle:

  • Finances, including term fees for the group and annual fees for Scouts Victoria
  • Fundraising initiatives
  • Maintenance of the hall and equipment

While leaders run the programs and activities, the Committee makes sure the resources, facilities, and support are in place for those programs to happen smoothly.

Group Leadership

The Group Leader links the leaders and the Committee, supporting leaders in their roles and helping to ensure the group runs smoothly. They are also the main point of contact for anyone seeking information about Pakenham Scouts or its programs. Within Pakenham Scout Group, Lara is the Group Leader, and Tristan is the Assistant Group Leader.

Safety and Standards

All our leaders undergo police and working with children checks and commit to a strict code of conduct, ensuring a safe environment for every young person. Scouts Victoria provides insurance for leaders and youth, as well as ongoing training to maintain high-quality programs.

Being part of Scouts Victoria means parents, youth, and the wider community can trust in the quality of care, guidance, and support we provide at Pakenham Scouts.
