At Scouts Victoria, young people aged 6 to 26 get the chance to try new things, challenge themselves, and grow through real experiences—not just sitting and listening, but getting out there and doing.
Here at Pakenham Scouts, we’re proud to be part of the local community. We’re a place where young people can make friends, get outdoors, learn practical skills, and build confidence in a supportive and fun environment.
Scouting is all about learning by doing. That might mean camping, cooking on a fire, working as a team, or having a go at leading an activity. Along the way, young people build:
- Confidence in themselves
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- A sense of responsibility and community
We also love giving back—whether it’s helping out at local events, running fundraisers, or supporting community activities around Pakenham.
It Takes a Village
Scouts doesn’t run without its volunteers, and that’s where families and the wider community come in. There are plenty of ways to help out, no matter how much time you have:
- Lending a hand at activities or events
- Helping with fundraising
- Supporting maintenance around the hall
- Assisting with equipment maintenance
- Joining the Group Committee or helping behind the scenes
If you’re keen to get more involved, you can also become a Leader or Assistant Leader. Full training is provided, and you’ll be supporting young people across Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, and Rovers.
At the end of the day, it’s simple—Scouts is about giving young people the chance to grow, have fun, and be part of something bigger.
